The Way We Respond Matters a Lot

We were on a campus. After a class, we planned to visit a temple that was about one hour away. We got ready and started walking towards the place where the cab would come. My kids were with me.

One of them jumped across a walkway to go close to Ullas. The second one followed and fell into the mud. When her legs got immersed in the mud, she lost balance and sat right in it.

I got angry. I called Ullas and said, “Let us cancel the trip and go back to the room to change the dress.” Hearing this, the younger one started crying, saying she still wanted to go to the temple. I kept asking, “Why did you follow your sister when I asked you not to?”

Seeing us, a student guided us to a nearby washroom, and we cleaned the dirt there. By then, Ullas called and asked, “Should we go?” I said, “Let’s go and buy sandals on the way.”

We went to the temple. But the younger one slept after the long cry.

Later, I reflected. I could have taken a photo of them in the mud and created a memory. I could have cleaned the dirt in a cheerful, playful way. I failed because I wanted the situation to be different from what it was.

If I had been present in the moment, I could have made it a beautiful memory and taught my kids that accidents happen, but we can come out of them gracefully.

I failed that day. But I will try to be more mindful in the future.

Happiness

Miracles do happen when we start counting our blessings..

Now, I do know what we talk about..

I adore him listening to me..

I enjoy him laughing with me..

I like him talking to me..

I admire him debating with me..

I cherish him spending time with me..

&

The thought of meeting him makes me smile..

ID Blog (For Evaluation)

My Initial Expectations:
More than expectations, I was just curious to know about the methodology that will be adopted by Ma'am to deal with various topics.

My Learning:
When thought about a metaphor that will describe me, all I could relate me with was a quote- “She who has a ‘Why’ to live can bear with anyhow”.

Classes in Personality exposed us to TA instrument and to MBTI. I held a strong view that personality is developed by 10 years and it is stable from then. This view of mine used to confuse me when I handle “TA and change”. It got shattered by attending this module. (It got reinforced when Sreedhar from Cognizant shared the demerit of using personality test in selection process). I did visit Kingdomality website to know more about where I belong.

If asked to describe one trait of personality, that made one successful over other (success not measured in terms of bank balance), I would go with “modesty” as mentioned in the link shared.

Making RBS portrait process itself was a good journey. RBS is Reflected Best Self. RBS portrait constitute 4 steps namely Identify respondents and ask for feedback, Recognize patterns, Compose your self-portrait and Redesign your job. I forced, reminded and did everything possible to make my friends send the inputs for my RBS portrait. When I discussed it with Ma'am, it opened a new window, which gave me clarity on my strengths and areas I need to improve upon.

The "Eye of Beholder" is one of the movies which gave me new insight every time I watched it. It truly depicts the quote- “When we are prepared to see something, we see it”. The discussion followed, on ‘errors of perception’ and debriefing with each character was thought provoking.

The Maya-Ezhumalai story evaluation made me appreciate the difference of individual opinion on the same incident and how each one of us are right in our way. As mentioned by one of the participant, "Past experience may influence your present decision".

Joshua Bell's video took me to my own doubts: If a famous violinist can be ignored by crowd, how far advertisement catches attention? But it also gave me a clarity that nothing should be given to anyone free of cost. People may not appreciate it. [By cost, I didn't mean only money]

Discussion on Attribution theory with class room examples was a good way to remember CCD- Consistency, Consensus and Distinctiveness.

As a group, we discussed the prejudice south Indians hold for north Indians and vice versa. This session emphasized the need for communication to remove the prejudices. Video clip on “Hanuman” while discussing ‘Pygmalion in management’ was fun and easily recallable.

Attitude session started with ABC (Cognitive, Affective and Behavioral components). Many books like “Out of box”, “Timeless steel”, “Winning way” and “Vision India” were recommended to read. The knowledge that OCB and OJ got added to types of attitude was beyond the knowledge we got from Stephen P Robbins book. Further explanation on OCB was beneficial for research work.

Creativity Class by Shiva sir was an added bonus to our group. Though I have tried to read Edward de bono's book many a time, I somehow couldn't do it. Shiv Sir gave a clear idea about 6 hats of thinking through his interesting class. The 6 thinking hats are WHITE (What I know, what I need to know), YELLOW (What are the benefits and values & alternatives), BLACK (Problems, difficulties and risk), GREEN (Ideas and Creativity), RED (Feelings and Intuition) and BLUE (Managing the thinking). [Important note: Before applying any tool of creativity, one should fall in love with creativity and problem solving].

The 15 minute presentation from participants-end on decision making and biases was a rich experience. It started with our group presentation on “Before you make that big decision”. For our group presentation, we brain stormed and identified a theme, made instances to fit in the context, and used caricature to bring in a novelty. “Hidden trap” presentation closely resembled ours conceptually.

“Five routes to better decision making” dealt about McKinsey’s 5 flexons (Network, Evolutionary, Decision-agent, System-dynamics and Information processing) for problem solving. Further presentations on “Delphi technique” and “Decision Tree” were known concepts, dealt differently. “Morphological analysis: A problem solving tool” and “Mind Map” seemed to be beneficial for research scholars (in present scenario) than others. “Decision without blinders” was a new concept. It explained the necessity of Devil’s Inquisitor and Bottle neck. “Brain storming” was taken in an interesting manner.

The HOT seat quiz resembled "Kaun Banega Crorepati" with its options. While conducting class room experiments with water gun for classical conditioning, I imagined the possibility to do a similar experiment with respondent blind folded and stimulus being 'beating with pillow'. Instrumental conditioning experiment and the discussion followed was satisfactory.

Emotion module was comparatively less engaging than other classes. A famous leader like Steve Jobs being “Not emotional” was surprising information for me. “Amygdala hijack” and three kinds of empathy discussed, namely Cognitive, Emotional and Empathic, enriched the topic theoretically.

The panel discussion provided audience the real appreciation of ID in organization. More than as a panel, they appeared to be three friends who are sharing their experience without a social desirability bias. Some note worthy learning for me from panel discussion includes, “Life gives lot of second choices”, “To take threshold to next level, fulfill smaller goals”, “eom=end of mail”

“Inner Work life” by Amabile and Kramer was a beautiful paper that has described about the necessity to exhibit positive emotions, by leaders, for employees to perform better. A worthy quote from the paper is its last few lines- “People deserve dignity and respect. When we act on that realization, it is not only good for business. It affirms our value as human beings”.

Youtube exercise was an experiential learning one. We started appreciating the 'making of video' better after this exercise. It was an exercise that revealed the talent of team members as well.  Growing Managers case study analysis with my friend made me appreciate ID topics better. The leader interview was enriching experience. The interview left me with a message- "ID should be an experiential course that grooms an individual than a theoretical one".

Motivation module did give us an idea about our need. One of the quote that caught my attention was- “Because, It is there”.

Now that the course is over, hope we all will appreciate individual differences better and will strive for excellence.

My take away
1) Learned various teaching methodology- Case study, Class room experiment, Class room games, Quiz, Discussions, Psychometric tests to name a few.
2) Learned new possibilities of assessment- Caricature and Youtube
I will use these inputs in my future. Most of the book references and materials were classic.

Pointers to enrich course next time
1)      Less materials for MBA students
2)      More class room activities to be included.
3)      Video available in youtube can be viewed by participants a priory or after class.
4)      One or two real time case study discussion to be included
I like the variety with which each class was handled. It includes dancing punishment for late comers as well.

Note: We research scholars and Beate do have a pending treat!!!

A peep in to CCM class

We take decisions first and then we come up with reasons to convince others.

When I got enrolled to Cross cultural class many were asking me the relevance of doing it dropping HRM.   ( I dropped HRM as it was clashing with CCM )

I gave an answer to all-“See, My research topic is Employee Burnout. In today’s context we need to know about the cultural difference before studying burnout”.

Either the one who questioned me might have got convinced or they might have thought there is no point in arguing with me that they didn’t bother to question any further.

After the CCM classes were on, I changed my research topic from Employee burnout to students stress (Aye, It’s not because of the stress I faced by preparing for CCM class. I promise! :P).

Though my well wishers stop questioning, It is my responsibility to keep convincing them that I am studying something worth, right? I came up with new thoughts-“ I am learning life from CCM”. I started talking philosophy after CCM sessions to reinforce the same.

Was it really true? May be, Yes.

During my so called philosophy sessions with my friends, below mentioned examples are the ones I used the most.

While reading Chinese negotiation, story of Cheng Han Cheng was mentioned to detail the importance of hierarchy in Chinese society. According to Chinese scholar Dau-lin Hsu, in 1865 Cheng’s wife had the insolence to beat her mother-in-law. This was regarded as such a heinous crime that, among other punishments, Cheng and his wife were both skinned alive, their flesh displayed at the gates of various cities and their bones burned to ashes. Neighbors and extended family members were also punished. This might be considered as an extreme cruel act by us, but this is considered normal by them. Is there any point in arguing with them that what they did is wrong? Even now women are not treated equal to men there. What if an Indian lady gets married to a Chinese and settles there. Here, we hold the right to express our views even to elders. If she does the same there, she might be perceived bad. Isn’t the same is happening with older generation and us? They were born and bought up in different culture, thus fails to understand us.

Another incident is from a guest lecture. He was associated with Japan for a longer time. According to him, Japanese talks in an indirect manner so that they won’t hurt anyone. As part of their pleasing manner, they express NO in 40 different ways. One way of telling NO is YES. Even a straight forward YES is having dual meaning. Funny world!

When asked to explain the experience of being in India, one guest lecture expressed a concern of moving around a retail shop for multiple times to pay the bill and getting goods delivered. Sounds OK for me, but that drives a foreigner go CRAZY.

Apart from lectures and materials provided, we had a collaborative learning with class participants sharing their rich experience about various cultures being from different parts of India and world.

In a consolidated manner, what I learned from CCM class is- “It is better to appreciate and accept the difference of another individual or culture in all its form than complaining about it. It makes us feel good and gave a feel of completeness”. (Again philosophy!)

Keeping all in mind, I didn’t see anyone quoting that Smile is interpreted differently in any place. I feel that is the best language anyone can learn to adopt irrespective of culture.

KEEP SMILING 

Deeru’s Investigation continues

One of my student kauth is doing his hotel business together with the studies...

He is bit poor in his communication.. But he will be communicating whatever he wants to through one or two words..

For example.. If he wants permission to go out, he will tell... Me, go out, permission.

Once he was not attending the class and was roaming around..

Dheeru came to know this and was very angry. How can students be so indisciplined under his guidance?

Kauth was asked to meet Dheeru.

Venue: Dheeru's room

Dheeru : What are u doing man, roaming without attending classes?

Kauth : Drinking Water, Sir

Dheeru : What you think about yourself? My foot..(Dheeru will be telling that very often whenever he gets angry)

Kauth didn't think twice. He replied : Vegetarian or Non-vegetarian, sir??

Dheeru couldn't answer to that. He smiled. Others might have felt Dheeru laughed for the ignorance of Kauth.

I wish to reframe it as- Dheeru smiled because he found his successor from this college.

Deeru’s Investigation

Day 1

A program was supposed to happen the very next day in our organization. A well known person named Balak was supposed to be there by next day, 2pm to address the gathering. My colleague is co-ordinating the event. By around 9 pm. she gets a call from Balak informing that He won’t be able to come the next day and if we can arrange the same in the very next week. She informed this to CEO and he asked her to inform the same to Deeru. Deeru got the details from her and said, he will do the necessary.

Day 2

Deeru made a call to my colleague by 10am asking-“What did Balak tell you yesterday?”
She replied-“ He wont be able to come today, He will try to make it in next week”.
Deeru asked her to come to his cabin.
When she entered, he could see student named Balak sitting with Deeru.
Deeru started investigation.
Deeru-“You told me Balak called you yesterday?”
My colleague- “Yes, he called me”
Balak(with a confused expression)-“When did I call you?”
My colleague- “You didn’t call me”
Deeru- “You only said, Balak called you”
Now she understood what was happening. She explained- “Sir, Yes, Balak did call me......."
Deeru: "But, he says....."
My Colleague: "Balak did tell me. .... But, it is our chief guest sir... Not this Balak"

Deeru started laughing to hide his ignorance.. And he regretted inside thinking- All his investigation plans went vain.

One word to Deeru.. Deeru, Best wishes… You can do even better with a little more effort…

A Brand New Hero-Deeru

Let me introduce a new character to you.. Deeru..
Have you heard this-
“Since light travels faster than sound,
some people may appear bright until you hear them SPEAK!!!”

This lines were just meant for Deeru. Before having an encounter with Deeru, I had gone through his profile.. My God!!! So many qualifications and work experience.. I was longing to meet him and to work under his guidance..

The very first meeting made me wonder if this is the same person whose profile I glanced through???

The way he talk, his pronunciation, everything had a local tone which I could associate to the ones we have heard in movies.. I kept ignoring my intuition..

Then happens an event in our organization.. For the prize distribution ceremony, Collector was invited. Collector before the ceremony wish to motivate the audience by his short speech. It was a gathering of hundreds of students. In between, to inspire the audience, he asked a question-“Do you know what is the distance between you and success?”. The whole audience went silent. I looked at the audience to check-Is there any brilliant one to answer this?

Suddenly, a hand got raised.. It was Deeru.. Then I felt- May be this is where the qualification and experience counts!!! Collector had a smile in his face. He asked Deeru to proceed..

Deeru with full confidence and in a childish voice shouted pointing his index finger up-
ONE FEET???

"WHAT???.. , !@#%^&*)()_+(Y&%$#@ " was the expression on Collector's face..

I burst to laughter…And many in the crowd were controlling theirs

And Collector controlling his laugh, answered-“ It’s the same distance between your thought and action”

The rest of the crowd understood the distance between them and success. Deeru still wonders "Why cant it be 1 feet?"

Help me please..

A girl is free of tension once she gets married, And

A boy is free of tension till he gets married.

Have you ever heard this lines???

Guys, let me ask you- What you have thought about girls??? Guys think like- We are too happy marrying a stranger.. No way...

Atleast you guys wont lose your friends after marriage.. But we do.. You need not leave your house, But we have to.. You may try to change yourself to impress your wife, But we lose many things in life after marriage, and still we shouldn't express that, and should impress you...

And hence, I feel marriage will make a girl lose her identity.. And she should find new ways to make herself happy.. So I ask my mother to postpone my marriage as much as possible.. But society wont leave us.. They are behind us asking all sort of stupid questions.. As I dont want her to feel sad, I agreed.. But I shared my grief with everyone who are close to me...

And a worthy advice from someone I know well was( He is elder to me) "Go for love marriage".. Yeah, Even I thought about it.. My Mother is very open minded.. She said to me- "She's ok for love marriage, as far as the guy is from same caste and is of similar financial background as ours".. Is this the way we fall in love??? Leave it. They cant understand all these.. So that plan wont work..

Now I am in search of genuine reasons to postpone my marriage.. Am hearing rumours- The world will end by 2012.. Is it true??? If so, Why should I sacrifice my freedom and happiness in the last 2 years of my life by getting married... So my friends, what can you do for me is - send me those details supporting this rumour.. So I can make my statement more clear to my mother with evidence..

Please...

Life in Bangalore

When we were in campus, there were always hot discussions on specific topics. One day, the topic was- Life in Bangalore. We’ve never had a good opinion about that. One of my close friend,Mummu with the eagerness to contribute more points to our discussion said “I will not marry a man, who has ever stepped foot in Bangalore”. On hearing that, I felt- “Yeah, if she can take such a strong decision, why cant I?” I also took a decision- Never to visit Bangalore.

It's said na- “Man proposes, God disposes.” That happened in my case. When I took the decision not to visit Bangalore again, God wanted me to be in Bangalore. That came in the form of a campus placement. In the last week of our college days, I got an offer from a company based in Bangalore.

I shifted with my friends to Bangalore and I start living here. Although I had a fear inside me during the initial days, slowly I realized that- “Even here, life is just like the one we had over there in campus.”

One day, while returning to my PG, I was going through my mobile pics. When I saw Mummus photo, I recalled the talk we had in our college and the decision I took that day. . I smiled to myself.

Suddenly a question flashed through my mind...

Will boys ever take any decision like “We will not marry a girl who is in Bangalore!”?!

Tutu and exams

Yes.. Finally I am back with another exam story- Tutu and exams..

It was Business Environment Exam for us after a day..

This time Tutu decided not to go for group study..

She woke up early in the morning and sat with the syllabus…

She went through the textbook and realized most of the topics were not there in the text..

She blamed the Professor and the college authority for giving us such a bad book..

She thought of getting Putu’s Assistance and went to her room..

Tutu asked Putu- “ Presently, Which Five year plan is going on and what are the amendments in it?”

Putu was perplexed.. She answered- “ What?? Five year plan?? What amendment??”

Tutu felt pity for Putu.. And replied- “ You haven’t gone through the syllabus till now”

With disappointment and anger, Tutu banged the door and went..

Putu couldn’t understand what had happened to Tutu..

Later when Putu went to take water, She peeped into Tutu’s room.. Tutu was happy to see Putu as she thought she can clarify her doubts with her..

She asked- “ Can you explain me Doha agreement?”

Putu couldn’t answer that.. And asked back- “Ah, Doha agreement?? It’s not in our syllabus”

Tutu got angry to the core and bounced back- “You are not familiar with the syllabus.. Hah.. Better I will seek the help of internet” And again shut the door with a loud noise..

The day went with so many unanswered queries..

The very next day morning, Putu and Tutu went to the foodcourt as usual. Before taking food, As usual Tutu raised her eyebrows and asked the question-“What are the implications of external affairs ministry?”.. This time Putu got really shocked.. And she felt something is wrong somewhere.. She asked Tutu for the syllabus.. Tutu proudly presented the syllabus to Putu..

And said-“ Here it is.. Atleast now you have a glance”

Putu went through the syllabus.. All the topics sounded alien to her.. And she took her syllabus out..

Tutu exclaimed- Which syllabus is this!!!

Putu- “ This is the one that sir gave us”

Tutu- “ Then, which is this syllabus?”

Putu realized that Tutu was referring to the age-old syllabus of MBA(1993)..

And shared this shocking news with Tutu..

They started comparing the syllabus for Tutu’s comfort..

And realized that only one unit was in common between the two syllabus..

Tutu started laughing.. And it ended only after entering the exam hall..

God Knows What she wrote for that university exams..

But when results came, Tutu had good marks…

Thank You Bharathiar University…

P.S.. Once again, thank you Putu for sharing your moments with us!

Dudu in to adventurous activity

In our hostel, It's like two share a room..

Putu is Dudu's close friend and they are in two different rooms..

Dudu used to be with Putu all the time..

It was a friday night.. Putu was alone in her room( as her roomie went home) and Dudu went for giving a company to her..

While talking, Dudu noticed on the other bed, A doll staring at her..

Dudu tried to ignore that.. but, couldn't..

Dudu shared this with Putu..

Putu recalled the story that her roomie told her - " the one who presented the doll to her committed suicide"

Putu shared this story with Dudu..

Dudu jumped from the bed..

She wished good night to Putu and left the room immediately..

Now Putu got a little scared..

She slowly moved to Dudu's room and said- " I am alone there in my room na.. Why cant you keep the doll in your room as your roomie is here?"

Dudu agreed with half mind.. She covered the doll with a bed sheet and kept it in her roomie's cup board.. ( Dudu's roomie was sleeping and was not aware of all these)

And Putu went happily to her room..

Half asleep, Dudu heard a sound in her room..

Not daring to open her eyes completely, She opened it a little..

Oh my God, The cupboard was shaking and an intense bang was coming from inside.. Dudu got scared to the core..

Dudu switched on the light and took the doll from the cup board.. It was shaking.. Later Dudu realised it was her hand that was shaking..

She put it in a suitcase and Walked towards Putu's room... She opened Putu's room, Kept the suitcase there.. And ran back to her room..

She locked her room and slept nicely...

The next day.. Dudu went to Putu's room...

Suitcase was there itself..

Putu was still in bed..

She went near Putu and touched her..

Putu opened her eyes with half sleep...

Dudu smiled and said-" Good morning"( And murmured to herself- Thank God, she is alive)

By the way, Dudu.. I have a doubt- Is that doll a ghost???

Special Thanks to Putu for the narration of this story to us..

It's an answer to my friends comment..

This guys na- Have a prejudice that- We, girls are always into books..

They think like- " We wont do any mischievous things, We are always stuffed with details from text books"

I dont know- How far that view is correct.. But let me tell you- There are exceptions like me..

The one who is more into irritating others.. The one who loves to make themselves a joker and make others laugh at them.. The one who is crazy only in creating moments with loved ones..

Now to explain better, let me explain today’s details..

I and my roomie started early, by 8am ( Yes, that’s early to us) to foodcourt to prepare for EST exam..

Remember we haven’t touched the book till then.. There we saw our friends, One ( Good boy)who belongs to our gang( Last minute preparation), and Scratch boy ( He always scratch his head, So only name scratch).. Scratch studied almost everything and was revising there.. We keep a distance from scratch as we fear that he may stuff our head with more information, or he may make us fear about the exam..

Then we went to auditorium( where exams are held). There we sat with the textbook and syllabus, without knowing where to start.. We went towards almost all to get an idea about the subject, but most were in to studying the last unit or topic.. We pity on them and came back to our seat..

The exam time is nearing.. Now it’s 9.15am.. Far away we could see, Hitz coming with Madz.. Hitz didn’t look up as he was not ready to take away his eyes from the textbook..

When he came near to us, We ask him to give an overall idea.. There only I saw—Which is something unbelievable.. Yes, he is reading notes.. Not textbook.. That too detailed one.. I always seen boys study by making their textbooks dirty by marking and scribbling.. He’s different- He is with notes.. And when we ask about any topic, he had answer for that.. I felt like his head is overflowing with points.. It’s like a fountain.. I get some points from that and enter in to the exam hall..

I was so happy seeing the question paper.. It was more like a general paper to me.. ( I believe the less we study a subject, the more we feel like it’s a general paper).. I wrote it in one and an half hour and make myself available for other things.. My friends ( Hitz, Scratch) are involved into answering, as for them it’s not at all a general paper..

Now my friend, let me tell you- While making fun of girls, you are forgetting one thing that, If you are going to generalize many things, either many of us girls are to be known as boys and many of the boys are to be known as girls..

Do commenting.. It gives me an inspiration to observe more and write more..

Another Exam preparation..

Here I introduce you to a friend of mine called Dudu..

She is a friend of mine, who loves talking for hours and hours together..

But when it's exam time, she makes us talk.. Yes, she visit others room and makes them teach her..

I was her prey in the first semester.. University exams were going on..

It was QMM exam the very next day.. I am above average in that.. And I used to help my friends in that..

Dudu is my friend and ofcourse i helped her.. I used to sleep by 9 or 9.30 those days (a habit I carried from home)

So I used to tell my friends- " Dont mind waking me up if you have any doubt"

And I never used to lock my door..

It may be around 2 or 2.30am..

I heard a peculiar sound and i opened my eyes from sleep..

There I saw my room door open and a big figure standing there...

My heart beat increased by seeing that..

It's nearing.. I prayed "let it turn to my roomie so that i'll escape.."

No way it's coming near to me..

I try to shout when it's almost near..but no sound is coming from the throat..

I thought- " Finally, here comes an end to my story", and I prepared myself for it.

Then the figure started talking- " Got afraid?? I had a doubt da.. So thought of asking you, Thought not to disturb your sleep, so only I didnt switch on the light"

It was Dudu.. She had a doubt at that time, so she remembered what I said to her and came to ask a doubt..

I thanked God for giving back my life..

I didnt clarify her doubt, because i was not in a stage for that..

But one thing happened..

I started locking my door thereafter...

Thanks Dudu..

Dont go, my friends... By the way, who is this DUDU???

Welcome to the International Business class...

Yes, U can see an aged person standing on the stage and almost all the students in the class..

Dont be surprised by that.. His class is a real fun...

Let me tell the first time he start teaching us..

It was in the second semester.. He handled Marketing paper for us..

Usually, i used to sleep well in theory class.. After all, good seat, ac class room.. And a lulluby by lectures... I just love to sleep...

His class- I never slept.. Is he strict in class?? No way man..

Then why didnt i sleep???

Here comes the answer- He talk in a wave fashion.. Sound modulation happens then and there.. Which makes us awake if we make any attempt to sleep...

So there comes an end to my sleep...

I tried to listen in his class.. Not possible.. There i started keeping my eyes open.. I look around..

Then i saw my friends with story books in hand, some with news papers and still others with laptop.. May be because i was involved in sleeping, i miss to see all these..

Then i thought of doing some creative work in class...

I shifted my place from third row to second last by the time i enter second year..

Last rows are superb for people like me..

Most of the professors wont disturb us in anyway.. although exceptions are always there...

There i saw the same professor again entering into our class.. He is going to take a core paper it seems...

I also start reading story books.. (Atleast i can write in my resume that i read books... Being PROACTIVE)

But he didnt like it i think.. He used to tell that- "Sriji is not at all listening.. Being with Vichu, she also become like that..." ( Vichu is my friend with whom i do all the fun in the class) .. Poor vichu, she might be listening.. But most of the times, he used to scold me attaching her name...

The third sem goes with countable complaints from him...

Then the final semester.. Yes, he is back to handle International Business class..

Me in the second last row with more friends into my rowdy gang,,,

He become a funny character to us by this time..

He will make fun of us like anything.. And he laughs himself..

We also encourage him by laughing with him...

Complaints against me is not new to the class by now...

All are familiar with that..

He will catch me either for talking, or for giggling, or for not listening..like that many...

Now he got a new prey-KAI...

At first, Sir used to send kai out of the class..

Later he understood- We are having tremendous will power( Or he might have got a fear seeing Kai's physique-- Kai is my first Gunda)

He used to tell- Whatever Kai do, he wont send him out.. And Kai can sit anywhere.. And he stop complaining about KAI..

Another speciality of this professor is that-- He is very open to us..

He used to tell us- the brand of pants he use, shirts, pen, tie like that many.. Noted point of all is that- He didnt buy any of these, but his brother-in-law..

Poor brother in law.. He might have thought by sending his sister by making her marriage will bring an end to his expenses...

No way.. This is why.. When u r making ur sisters marriage, make it sure.. this wont happen with u...

Many more details to write.. But will write as next blog...

Preparation for exams...

Exams..

Yes, Now Iam having my Final year final semester exams..

I was thinking about the amount of preparation i used to have in my younger days when exams are nearing..

In my tenth standard, i study not just for me, but for my mother, brother, for my relatives..

I just go on reading all the portions as far as i can..

Like an answer to my prayer, there was teachers strike in the same year, which give me additional one more month to stuff my head into books..

I read pages and pages before i attend the exam..

I got comparatively good marks in tenth standard..

Then comes plus two- Let me tell u- I still dont know why i take science..

All said- all studious students take science, and i was not ready to fall in to the other category and i also joined the crowd..

But that two years, I dont know what and all i studied on those days..

I went to class everyday, i went to entrance coaching.. Finally i attended all the class, but didnt study anything...

When the final exams came, May be because i myself didnt have a clear idea about-what am i going to write.. I was not well then..

My mum read those portions and i studied a little and appeared the final exam...

Before the result was announced, I didnt had any hope that i will get good marks, so i went and booked a seat for me in a college near to my house..

When results came, I had above average and i felt good...

Then the degree exams, There also i studied like anything to get into good book list of all...

Finally, i joined MBA...

Let me tell u... This is the course am enjoying like anything...

I feel like everyone has to do MBA to know the enjoyment in life..

No tensions about studies.. No tension about exams..

In the first semester all used to study a week before the exam.. In second semester, we all improved, We start our preparation in the previous day of exam.. Third semester we start by noon of the previous day...

I had a doubt then itself about my fourth semester, ie the final semester.. Yes..

Now we are into that.. And now its like- No one is studying.. All are with laptop, or movies..

All feels like writing exam for more than one hour is too boring( I used to get bore before also, but never thought i will have followers)

I think by this time, we get a skill to write the exams from our imagination..

Why all are like this??? Is this the way youth has to behave?? Will our country grow if we, the youth are like this?

Oh, god.. I forgot.. Tomorrow is service marketing exam.. Let me watch munnabhai MBBS so that, i will get a better idea about service industry... will send more philosophy later...

Bye
